San Carlos Hotel New York

We had a fantastic week long stay at the San Carlos Hotel. Carlos, Andy and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel's location is very central and many of Manhattan's sights are within walking distance. Our bedroom as well as the bathroom were very clean and surprisingly spacious, and we even got a room in one of the higher floors upon request, which made for a very nice view. The neighborhood, despite being in the heart or Manhattan, is relatively quiet, but this is New York, so make sure to bring earplugs since the firetrucks' sirens can be intense. The hotel does not offer breakfast, but we loved the fact that there are so many multifaceted dining options in the neighborhood. We will definitely stay there again!

It is clean, safe, quiet and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Everything is close by regarding markets, breakfast and restaurants to eat. It is close to the subway and you can walk to many destinations. It's not a frills hotel, but was perfect for what we wanted. The rooms are "normal" size and not small just because they are in NYC. We loved the area and definitely would stay here again.

We were close to many attractions and we walked to Time Square, Rockefeller Center, and Radio City Music Hall. The last couple days we took the subway which was easy and convenient. The room was spacious and clean. There was a separate king size bedroom and had a living room with a pull out couch for our teenagers. The staff was very friendly and helpful with places to eat and setting up a roll in bed one of our daughters. We also had adjoining rooms with our adult kids. The set up was perfect for the 6 of us.

The location is unbeatable – just a short walk to iconic sights, yet tucked away enough to feel calm and welcoming after a day in the city. Our room was immaculately clean, spacious (a rare luxury in NYC!), and had that “welcome home” feeling you can’t fake. The beds were incredibly comfortable – the kind you melt into after walking the streets of New York all day. The staff were the real highlight. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone was warm, professional, and genuinely eager to help. They went out of their way to accommodate our needs. We also appreciated the little touches the quiet atmosphere despite being in Midtown, and the attention to detail that made everything feel cared for. If you’re looking for a place that combines location, comfort, and exceptional service without the chaos of a huge hotel, San Carlos Hotel should be at the top of your list. We can’t wait to come back!

Location and room size 38 m2 were what we had in mind while we booked this hotel. We had room cleaning everyday. Very clean always. I was a bit worried it does not require a room card to use the elevator, we felt safe when we observed the lobby, no strange types hanging around. Manhattan is very expensive than we had expected, so it is very good there is Subway, Mac donald and Panda express at the corner, 4 of us could eat one meal around 20 dollars instead of 160 dollars. The small kitchen works well with making a simple sandwich, cornflake breakfast and cupnudler.
